Hi, my name is Sister Josephine, and I am the after-school care program coordinator. In our after-school care program we welcome our students as they are released from class. First, they check in with me, then they hang up their backpacks and have homework time with helpers available. For the younger students there are a variety of activities for them to choose from such as arts and crafts, puzzles, building blocks, cars, etc. Once homework is mostly complete and all our friends have arrived, we clean up and wash our hands before snack. We pray before we eat to remember to give thanks to God for all our blessings. After snack time we usually go outside to play soccer, volleyball, frisbee, chalk, bubbles, and jump rope! When we come back inside, we have a cold treat for all! Sometimes we will have a dance party, watch a short show or movie to help us cool down and relax. It is wonderful to see how the older students interact with the younger ones, helping with bathroom and water breaks, and caring for each other when someone needs comfort. Every Friday of aftercare we pray one decade of the Rosary around 3:50-4pm to pray that everyone has a safe and fun weekend.
